The World Choir Games is the largest global choral festival and competition. The Games are based on Olympic ideals, drawing choirs from around the world to compete for the highest accolade in choral music. This year the Games are being held in Gangneung, South Korea.

Newcastle Chamber Choir’s goal has been to win a national competition to qualify for the 2023 games. In 2022 we achieved this goal, becoming the Australasian Choral Champions as winners of the Sydney Eisteddfod and Australian National Eisteddfod, thus qualifying us to compete in the champion’s category at this year’s World Choir Games! We strive to proudly represent Australia and expose the international community to Australian culture, Australian composers and Australian Choral music at an elite level.

Newcastle Chamber Choir’s World Choir Games Concert will showcase our performance repertoire for our beloved home crowd, in one of the best concert halls in the region.
